Bring Buddy

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Bring Buddy provides tools for participating ministries, students, families, and leaders. This notice describes information handled by the Bring Buddy website and mobile app. Contact Michael Patten at email@michaelpatten.com with privacy questions.

Information used by the service

  • Account and profile information, such as your name, email, sign-in information, profile photo, ministry membership, and role.
  • Information supplied to your ministry, such as phone number, grade, date of birth, family relationships, guardian approvals, and event registration answers. The information requested depends on the features your ministry uses.
  • Participation information, including invitations, event responses, attendance, points, badges, and Buddy progress.
  • Content you submit, including messages, photos, files, feedback, and other information shared through enabled ministry tools.
  • Device and session information used for sign-in, notifications, troubleshooting, and security, including notification tokens and operational logs.
  • Where payment features are used, transaction and registration records. Payment processing is handled through the configured payment provider.

How information is used

The service uses this information to authenticate accounts, manage ministry membership and permissions, deliver events and communications, record participation, provide notifications, process enabled transactions, respond to support requests, and maintain the service.

Who can access information

Information is available to ministry administrators, leaders, guardians, and other members according to their roles and the feature involved. Messages and shared content are visible to their intended participants. Invitation links and information shared outside Bring Buddy can be seen by their recipients.

Service providers process information to support hosting, databases, authentication, file storage, email, messaging, push notifications, and payments. Your ministry may connect additional services. Ask your ministry about its own data practices and connected providers.

Cookies, local storage, and permissions

The website uses session cookies for sign-in and ministry selection. The mobile app stores session and cached app information to support access and offline features. Device permissions, such as notifications, can be managed in your device settings. Signing out and clearing app or browser storage can remove locally stored information.

Families and younger members

Bring Buddy includes ministry-managed student and family profiles and guardian approval features. Parents or guardians should contact their ministry about a child’s participation, profile, permissions, and communication settings. Contact support if you believe information about a child was provided without appropriate authorization.

Retention and deletion

Information remains in the service while it is used for account access, ministry operations, and administrative history. Some features support ministry-configured retention settings.

You can delete your account from Account & privacy. The deletion flow removes login access, direct profile contact details, photos, and posted chat content. Attendance, payment, and administrative history may remain for ministry review. An administrator must review identifying information in historical notes. The only administrator of a ministry must appoint another administrator before deleting their account.

Your choices and requests

You can update your display name, manage notification permissions, and sign out on all devices. Contact your ministry to correct ministry records or ask about its retention practices. For access, correction, or deletion requests that you cannot complete in the app, contact email@michaelpatten.com. Identity verification may be needed to protect your account.
